Aimee has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2003. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Houston. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Communication Disorders and minor in psychology in 2002. The majority of her professional career has been in medical settings including hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient, and home health. As a result, she has a strong background in feeding/swallowing, neurogenic disorders, and working with medically complex patients. Collaborating with clients, families, and other professionals to think outside the box in order help achieve positive outcomes for the “whole child” has been a strength professionally. If you ever see her in action, her passion for the job is obvious. Her creative play-based therapy approach yields impressive progress in a way that’s fun for the child (and her!). Her commitment to the belief that children learn best while having fun helps to create experiences in which the hard work of therapy doesn’t have to feel like “work” at all.
Wendy Collins-Bucher has been an Occupational Therapy practitioner for over 20 years. She is also a Personal Trainer/Strength and Endurance Conditioning Coach. Most of her time in the field of OT has been spent specializing in pediatrics: 7 years providing therapy services in the Texas public school system, 3 years in a pediatric clinic-based setting and another 8 years working with the special needs population in the home setting. For several of those years, she worked closely with Child Protective Services as well as a number of Group Foster Care and Foster to Adopt homes. She dabbled a bit in sports medicine and also worked in management at a long-term care facility. But, it didn’t take long for her to realize that she is happiest when “playing” for a living with her pediatric patients. Helping kids knock whatever curve ball life has thrown at them out of the park is her passion! She has worked with a wide variety of diagnoses; physical, mental and behavioral. She has provided therapy to kiddos that were part of clinical trials, research studies and non-traditional rehabilitation cases. She thinks outside the box and puts her heart into her work. She has a strong commitment to helping others which is a driving force in both her career and personal life. OT is more than a job for Wendy. Her love for the kids that she works with shines through in each and every session and cultivates meaningful relationships while accomplishing real progress to better the lives and support the needs of the families that she serves.
